Mechanics Notes:
- Referee- If you are looking at the back of a holder on a PAT or field goal then you are on the wrong
side.
- Stay home during live ball time and out of the middle during dead ball time unless you are needed.
Too much conversation leads to too much confusion.
- LOS and deep side officials stay off of the field during live ball time. Deep sides according in after
ball is dead.
- The entire crew holds the next down signal until the R drops his arms to his side.
- Officials with forward progress- Hold your spot until the U has the ball ON THE
GROUND.
- Caution- be careful in your attempt to be preventive not to verbally distracting when the snap is
imminent.
- The 40 second clock is always set back to 40 anytime the DEFENSE causes the game clock to stop EXCEPT when they
call a time out.
- Kick off positions- R always on goal line. LOS officials also unless no receivers within the 10 yard
line. LOS stay behind the receivers( on side excluded here)
- Good “stop” and “start” the clock signals
- Your attention belongs to the crew! Professional at ALL times.
